Seven-year-old Farouk was abducted from his home by a group of criminals, right before the horrified and helpless eyes of his parents and little sister. Thus began a nightmare that would last 177 days, holding all of Italy in suspense—a historic event that would even go so far as to put the State itself under immense strain.
