One year after the 2004 tsunami, the construction of East Geunting village in Aceh began with funds from U.N. Habitat and elsewhere. Meanwhile, an Acehnese village chief leads his people through ups and downs of the ongoing reconstruction and rehabilitation process. The film shows how complicated it is to survive a traumatic event and then experience global intervention.
